Well, the food was okay. Not great but not terrible. The meat was better than other food items. We weren't really there for food though--we were in town from Wisconsin and wanted to find a place that would play the Packer game. We called 'em (they actually answered, that almost never happens with bars nowadays) and they were like "yea sure no problem we can put the game on!" And they actually did. So we had some beers and wings and watched the game. Good time, cool atmosphere.

RYMKS (pronounced remix ๐Ÿค”) was an excellent dining experience! First and foremost, my waitress, Lee T., went over and beyond. It has been a long time since I have had that level of customer service! I enjoyed the music in it was at a volume that I could still converse with my party. I had the opportunity to try the lemon pepper turkey wings, fried fish, fried chicken, collards, mac and cheese, and corn. The lemon pepper turkey wings are delicious and do not have an overbarren flavor; the fried fish and chicken are on point! I am a little disappointed that they do not have TexasPete hot sauce, but that's my personal preference. My collards were good, but they were not hot. The mac and cheese have great flavor and texture! The corn is unmatchable! Each entree comes with a bed of rice, and unfortunately, it looked and tasted old. Honestly, I hope they get rid of the rice because the dinners come with two sides anyways. 9 out of 10 recommend.

Update 2: I keep wanting to give this place another chance, but this is my last time going. They didn't have a lot of menu items. We waited 45 minutes for appetizers, I was served rotten green chicken wings, and they tried to tell me it was herbs. Also, the bartenders can not make drinks to save their lives. Worst restaurant ever. The manager is a really big guy who saw what happened and didn't come over to apologize or address the situation. DO NOT GO THERE! I'm calling the health department. Update 1: My first review was from 8 months ago. This review is for my visit yesterday. It's still a great atmosphere and vibe, but it has definitely changed. There is never a dedicated host greeting customers, various food items aren't available at times, the drink prices have increased to $16/$18/$20 for a cocktail and there is an entertainment fee applied ro the bill. It seems like this place will not last much longer, which is a shame because it has so much potential and was a lot better before the owner passed. 2 star review Original review: One of my new favorite restaurants. The jerk food is very good and you can't beat the parking. 5 star review.

Nice establishment for the day scene and night life, we were happy to come across this Black-owned Business late on a Monday night. The place was nice and spacious, with a bar area to the right and the upper left provided more comfortable seating. We seemed to have the place to ourselves aside from the staff and a few others that came and went. The waitress was very personable, answered various questions about a wide variety of menu items, which made it easier to narrow down the picks. The staff helped warm the ambiance for us by turning the music on in the upper level and the waitress dimmed the lights, possibly in response to hearing we were visiting leading up to our anniversary. Food review: the deep fried turkey was ON POINT and came on a bed of rice (yum) in addition to two sides. I wish I'd enjoyed the sweet potatoes and greens more. Hubby had the jerk chicken philly, flavorful and tender with seasoned fries. He also ordered the jerk rib tips, not so tender but liked the sauce; it came with plantains and BABY! ๐Ÿ˜‹ We were also blessed with a surprise sampler of mac n cheese (YESSSS), salmon salad (MMMM) and brussel sprouts with jerk turkey bacon (YESSIR)! While we were deciding what to order, the waitress stepped out to take a puff break and obtained coverage until she returned. Great teamwork and accomodations!

I went during a week day. Noย  hostess at the welcoming desk. I made way to the bar and was informed that I could sitย  at any table. Nice ambiance with soothing R&B. Angel was my waitress and was serving the entire bar area. She was amazing!ย  She reviewed the happy hour specials that ended at 7pm and recommended appetizers and entrees.ย  The crab, spinach, and artichoke dip was tasty with sparse crab lumps. The blackened chicken and Cobb salad was a nice mix of sweet and savory. The maple mustard salmon dressing was an excellent combination! Only draw back was the salmon was cooked hard/over done. The sweet potatoes are more spice than candied. The bake mac and cheese and red velvet cake were on point! Bathroom was clean and there are two pool tables available for use. Overall, I enjoyed the vibes, food, and will definitely come back again!
