I’ve had my 53 since 2003, she was my daily driver for 8 years. I recently pulled her out of storage to get her back on the road & ran into a few things that were out of my expertise. I took her to Pete here at Pro-Speed Autoworks a local classic car/ hot rod shop to do the work. Man these guys are awesome, they adjusted my timing, replaced a freeze plug, diagnosed that my carburetor was shot, replaced it & dialed in the motor. The 302 is roaring just like she was 20 years ago - Thanks Kieth for bringing my girl back to life for me! You see this is more than a car to me, she’s a part of the family. Pete & his team treated her great, they understood where I was coming from. Pete the owner even picked my son & I up so we wouldn’t have to Uber to the shop. My son will be driving her in a couple years & we’re making memories working on her together. The team at ProSpeed is Awesome, every single one of them are kind, knowledgeable and helpful. If you need some work done on your custom or classic car - this is the shop to go to. They eat, sleep & breathe hot rods, rat rods, muscle and classic cars!

I dropped off my 1972 nova to pro-speed with the hopes they would assist me in my journey of revamping my car. It has taken 3 years including the year they had the car to undo everything they have done just to get the car to the point where I will have it back on the road this year. I happily paid them $20K+ and everything they touched had to be undone and the work done again by someone else. I was billed for fenders being rolled to accommodate a larger tire and that work was not done. I was billed for the installation of front brakes and rotors and the rotors were installed on the wrong sides of the car (right was on the left, left was on the right). I was charged over $1,000 for a coating to be sprayed in the interior of the car only to have that coating began to peel in sheets because the metal was not scuffed or sanded. I originally brought the car to pro-speed because they assured me they could handle installing a mini tub kit from DSE. I later found the large brace that was installed to support the floor and suspension parts was installed crooked and the tubs in the trunk are out of alignment by a full inch. I asked for the rear to be measured so that the wheels would tuck inside the fenders and the car ended up sitting almost 2 inches higher than the original stance. All and all I am terribly disappointed with the product that was returned to me. I happily paid whatever they asked (over $20K) and I am left with an even larger bill from another shop because I had to pay someone to undo what pro-speed did to my car and have someone else redo it. I also have a stack of useless parts that I cannot return and that have never been used. I cannot tell if they simply allowed employees with no experience learn on the fly with my Nova or if they simply do not care but I would NOT recommend ANYONE bring their car here for any serious work. Let me be clear, it has taken 2 years plus the year they had the car for me to unravel everything that was done poorly. Thank God for people like Dan Marrow formerly of AA speed and Jason Fore who were willing to take on this $20K+ box of issues and work with me to get everything corrected because it was not done right the first time.

Pete and team @prospeedautoworks were the best. We immediately learned about this team and the shop from both word of mouth and a quick Google search. It took I wanna say about nine months before we could get this baby in, but it was well worth the wait. Pete and his team put their heart and souls into each car they work on regardless of the project budget. It was clear from the start these guys are trusted and called on to work on projects in the 100s of thousands of dollars. THAT WAS NOT US. But, that did not matter and they went the extra mile to find creative solutions to meet our intent and budget. The biggest part we immediately needed was replacing the engine which was in really bad shape. Pete helped us research and ultimately install the new long block which fit our budget and still performs like a beast. We could not be happier with Pro-Speed and their work. Definitely recommend this shop as they are honest, up front, and diligent.

February 2023 I took my 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T to have a steering box replaced. The car had sat for Three years so fuel system was shot. Pete kept me updated along the way and never pressured me to do anything. Since I.had a true R/T I wanted it right. Upgraded rear end from 323 to 377, replaced entire fuel system, replaced steering box, got rid of faulty Elderbrock carb replaced with 750 double pumper, Pete had car running pretty good. On his last test drive he discovered a bad intake gadget. During replacement we found several bad lifters and a wiped cam. Replaced Csm with high lift Roller cam, while we were at it we put a set of ceramic headers on her and Trick Flow heads. Then we decided to add a high volume Water Pump and Oil Pump. With all the work Pete and his team did it was installed with a very high level of detail. We finished it off with a Retrosound Radio. If you have a classic that needs some attention you have to go talk to Pete. He runs a first class operation with a lot of talent in the shop to do anything you need. From a total build to a silicon detail he should be your only consideration. Ask Pete for my contact information if you want to verify this review. Paul Mella

This is my second five-star review for ProSpeed. I did a review on Yelp about seven months ago, and I’m pleased to report another excellent experience with ProSpeed in repairing/improving my ’66 Mustang coupe. They diagnosed and repaired a couple of front end issues. They found (!), installed and correctly balanced new styled steel wheels. And based on my cranky and exacting instructions, they located, bought, balanced and installed radial tires that are lookalikes to the bias ply tires I was using. A couple of examples of their attention to detail: Since COVID, Mustang ss wheels have been impossible to find. 12-18 month waits are typical. Knowing I was coming, they started looking 2-3 weeks ahead, alerted me when they found ‘em on ebay so I could buy them before they got my car. (Thanks Chris!). They ordered new front suspension parts and when they noted the parts weren’t correctly finished (paint color wrong), returned them for correctly finished parts. And they fixed a leak that had developed over 8 months after an initial repair, under warranty with no discussion and at no charge. Repairing old cars takes time and care, and these folks provide it. I have worried a lot in the past about how/who can keep my car in the original and operational condition I want. ProSpeed does that. Along with care and skill, they deliver peace of mind.
