Referred by a friend and will definitely be back. Thank you for the experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. No complaints here. Started with egg rolls, meal was curry goat, rice and peas cabbage and plantains.
My first time visiting this restaurant was on June 16, 2022 for a birthday celebration and I was quite pleased. The restaurant really is just a house that someone had the idea to turn into a restaurant so it’s super cute and intimate. The place is nicely decorated and gives it an upscale vibe. The drinks are delicious, well what I ordered the mango margarita was delicious. The food took a little minute to come out for it to not be a lot of patrons at the time my party and I visited. We ordered the salmon and coconut shrimp, the curry chicken and I even tried the jerk coconut corn! Everything was to die for and I would definitely be back.
I think this place will consistently get a 4 star even with exceptionally good food, due to the gratuity + tip challenge. I think it’s a bit lazy to push all but food costs on customers. However, I had the best escovitch fish ever! My server (Tubbs) was sweet and attentive. He makes a strong drink, but it’s not particularly good. He’s a good bartender, personable and chatty, so he could benefit from mixology classes. I’ll definitely be back.
On my visit, which was a Saturday evening, I experienced a sub-par restaurant experience. The restaurant at this time only had 3 beverage's (water, coke and cranberry juice) and had a full bar. The food was pretty good and I will recommend the jerk chicken egg rolls, coconut shrimp and oxtails. Maybe this particular day they weren't hitting on all cylinders, but they have good potential. Wouldn't revisit based on an inadequate supply of food and beverages.
Absolutely love the Rasta pasta and get it often but today when I went to pick it up I was told it cost 5$ more than the price I have always paid and what they have posted on their website. The girl who rung me up said that the online prices are incorrect! That is terrible business! How is one to know what the actual price is. She showed no menu or anything. As much as I love the food I rather let them keep it because 30$ for pasta and chicken is crazy. I also was asked to bring cash because no one was there but the cook and when I arrived door was locked 😫 Update in response to owner: I am definitely understanding of emergencies and that part was not my main concern, as I was still able to be served and the cook who answered was very pleasant explaining on the phone. My issue is with the inconsistency of the price. The website states that dish is 23$ and the young lady just tells me coming in that the price is 28$ no receipt no menu or anything and when she saw me pulling up the website she said that the online prices are incorrect. That just felt dishonest! If it was her trying to apply a gratuity she should have allowed me that choice not say the price increased on the dish.
