I got a great cut and Brazilian smoothing treatment for my curly but thinning hair that gets uncontrollably frizzy during Tidewater summers. The result is more, not less, body and smooth styling. Co-owner Tina Hewitt is fabulous!
I wish I could give 0 stars I was interviewed for a shampoo tech position at this salon OVER THE PHONE I was told I sounded lovely and just who they were looking for after speaking with them AND HIRED I went in for my first day of training I was greeted by a woman who apparently had owed this salon before the current owner I wasn't in there 20 minutes I was told it was too busy to be trained (mind you I didn't need training I have 11+ years experience in salons) she walked me outside and told me to my face my "looks" weren't what she wanted representing the salon and I was "overweight" then receiving a call from Cornelius the owner the next day telling me "if I wanted to work in the salons industry I would need a drastic and dramatic makeover" please don't give these people any business someplace that is suppose to make people feel beautiful absolutely destroyed my self esteem.
I'd leave zero stars if I could. I just want everyone to know how judgemental and rude the people that run and work at this salon are. They won't hesitate to tell you straight to your face that you need a full body makeover if you want to work there. It's ridiculous that in 2023 people can be so close minded and cruel but here we are I guess.
Absolutely amazing experience! I was looking for a new salon/stylist and decided to give Parlour a try. I got a full highlights and cut by Alex and he did an incredible job. I have long blonde hair and would previously spend up to 5 hours in a chair but he did it flawlessly in 3hr! I left very happy and was still happy the next morning :) Alex is skilled, efficient, and understands your needs and wants as a client. The salon itself is inviting, bright and just has good vibes. Go see them!
Well I hate to see you go but this isn’t the place for me anymore. Don’t get me wrong- amazing stylists but I can’t get behind their new policies. 100% charge for services if you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours- hard pass. Life happens. Cash only tips (no venmo etc)- I get that they don’t want to deal with the credit card fees and cash isn’t traceable…. I’m not trying to add extra errands to my day to tip my stylist what they deserve. (I mean really, who carries cash anymore?) God speed- you’ve been a great salon but you’re not the only one in the area. Womp womp.
