I’m so pleased! This is going to be long because I have to share my enthusiasm and delight. My husband and I are supposed to go to an event tonight. (I usually get my hair done at Drybar.) unfortunately, well fortunately today, I couldn’t get an appointment. I live very close by so I decided to give this salon a try. When I called i spoke with Selam (the owner). I sent her a photo of my hair and how I normally like it styled while we were on the phone. She immediately said she could do it and that I am welcome to come in today. I came in and they washed my hair. It was a hair wash sent by the Gods. I mean I actually promise. Like have you ever had someone massage your scalp? I’m not talking about when someone uses the tips of their fingers to rake into your scalp, I mean takes their time and ensures the scalp is clean around the front and back and sides? Then She asked if I wanted a deep conditioner. (My beloved former hair stylist Landon used to always give me deep conditioners so I said yes because it reminded me of him and I need one). Have you ever had a steam conditioner? My hair feels so soft and luscious now! I’m currently under the dryer getting a roller set and feeling very pleased I didn’t go to Drybar. I am so happy! I am very particular about my hair! I can tell you these ladies know what they’re doing, they’re beautiful and kind! The salon is so cute and very clean as well! I highly highly approve.
First I came in having no idea they charge extra to detangle your hair..The lady who did my hair said that I needed a trim and cut off more than she was supposed to cause she said my head wasn't straight? Umm...yeah. The silk press was bad too. Never again.
Beware of poor customer service. The owner and the staff are rude and extremely defensive. The owner lied and said my hair was damaged. My hair is not damaged and the truth is I was not combed out properly in the shampoo bowl by the tech.. I have been going over the years and the quality of service has really gone down. I have made several attempts to show grace and decided yesterday to give them another try a few months after another bad encounter with the blow dry tech who is also extremely rude. There are so many other great shops in DC who value customer service.
