What a find, true authentic Jamaican food. The serves are amazing, thoughtful and personable, he had plenty of good recommendationsready to go. Service was a tad slow when I was there but I think they were short handed as only one person was attending the dining room, bar and Togo area. We had the wings (omg amazing), oxy tail, goat curry and the rum cake. All of it was delightful.
Judy's Island Grill has amazing food. Everything on the menu is delicious. Don't expect fast food or service. This restaurant is a place to slow down and enjoy, have conversations, listen to music, and absorb the atmosphere. It does get busy, so be prepared to wait. If u are ordering carryout, order ahead of time. Be patient! Everyone is so friendly.
Excellent service! The server was tall, Jamincian man he was so funny. His service was superior and will return because we were treated so well. The atmosphere was excellent too, music playing with booth tables or regular tables to be seated you can also choose indoor or out door. Parking was great, too. We paid 84.00 for food, which included a tip for server we purchased 1 jerk dark chicken with sides of coconut rice and peas with cabbages, the jerk chicken was spicy and seem more like barbecue instead of jerk. We also had an oxtail with provisions, which consisted of 2 dumplings, 1 boil green banana, and 1 piece of yellow 🥔 with a side of coconut rice and peas also a side of coco bread. For drinks 1 red stripe and 1 rum punch. Provisions such as dumplings and yellow potatoes were too hard. dumplings could have boiled some more, but green bananas were great coco bread nice and hot great oxtails could have been softer. Overall, the taste was good. The rice was excellent. The flavor was good!
Got some braised ox tail with rice & peas and cabbage on the side and a curry chicken patty to go for lunch. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and effective and I got my order within 10 minutes of ordering which was great. The ox tail and the sauce was pretty flavorful although I found myself wishing it had a little bit of heat as some of the other places do. The sides of rice and peas and cabbage were all solid as well. The curry chicken patty was light and not greasy. The stuffing inside the patty was fine but would be even better if it packed a stronger punch flavor wise. Overall a good meal and I would definitely pop by and try some of their other dishes when I'm in the area again.
I had the best time at Yard Fest 2023 at the restaurant!!! I was happy to get the good food, dancing, and seeing the different clothing vendors outside. My food was the (7 piece) grilled shrimp 🍤 with garlic butter, sweet plantains, and island fries. My drink was the 24 oz Island Blast Fruit Punch 🥤. I ordered sauce and there wasn't ANY with the fries, nor seasonings on the fries. Not sure why the staff forgot that, it's called 'Island Fries' yet there were no spices in sight...The garlic sauce somehow got ALL over my plantains. Please either add plantains in both small to-go container slots or the fries in the same container. Next time, I'd get a different sides in my to-go container such as rice or pasta and the salmon as well 🍽️. Hopefully, I can make it for Yard Fest 2024 to order more food and dance more 🎶🌟💃🏾🇯🇲🎧
