Recently visited Moon Village Bakery in Seattle for my first time & had a pleasant experience! When I walked in the smell was delightful! Racks of fresh baked bread was cooling & donuts were being freshly fried! I asked about a previous week's donut special I saw advertised online, & while it was no longer available the baker/owner offered to make a similar one for me with truffle chips! It was SO GOOD!!! Getting a fresh warm (& customized!) donut is a real treat, it seriously made my day! What's unique about this Bakery too is that they are very community-focused. They deliver baked goods (in King County), donate to local orgs., support BIPOC & LGBTQ+, & sell creative works from local artists in their storefront as well. I love what they're doing & excited to see them grow! Will be returning very soon!!
My family did the delivery bread subscription and it was fantastic! We loved getting different bread each week- my favorite was the olive bread, although they were all good. The donuts are excellent as well, and I look forward to trying out their cakes! Give them a try, support a local family and get good bakery products- it’s a win-win!
I read about Moon Village Bakery in the South Seattle Emerald and signed up for a month of weekly delivered fresh bread. All of it has been super creative and delicious! We got some dill bread, rolls made with blueberries and rose water, another had organic corn, and most recently was a tasty sweet onion bread. All of them have been super fresh and fluffy. They also called and texted me to make sure we received our first order, because I wasn't home when they dropped it off. Great service and great bread! I think it's usually 5 rolls in a weekly delivery. Pictured are 2 of the sweet onion bread because we ate 3 already. :)
It started with me trying to find a local baker for my birthday cake this year. It was the best cake I've ever had, and when I picked it up I saw it was a small family-owned thing. It landed itself a place in my heart. I kept going back. When I was in a bad place they offered free bread for a little bit until I was in a better situation. Now I'm still underprivileged but I get their mystery box at the end of the day, which they still consider my allergies, for a discounted price. And I get to enjoy my favorite part of life, home baked goods, and support someone within my community as they've supported me.
Stopped by on a whim and was not disappointed. Did I get home and try a bit of each donut? Yes. Yes I did. The flavors have a depth of nature challenging to describe. Blue rose, orange blossom, & the peach jelly all taste like the good earth intended. Far from artificial and paired with a donut so soft I had to close my eyes. The cinnamon sugar is also divine. The blackberry cookies? {chef’s kiss} The vibes in the bakery are immaculate including the owner whom was the loveliest person I’ve meant in some time. Thank you Moon Village for the vast array of goodness that filled my belly and my heart. Best of luck and can’t wait to come back! Edit: Upon having more of the blue rose donut… it is hands down my favorite. Delectable.
