We were greeted at the door and welcomed into the restaurant. Everyone is so friendly and go out of their way for the best customer service. The guys that took our order, brought our food out, and check out at the counter all went above and beyond. The food is amazing. My wife ordered the chicken, some of the best we’ve had. I ordered the brisket, and let me tell you, for lunch time brisket, I was impressed. 10/10 would recommend. Must stop if you’re in the area!
My in-laws took me to this restaurant last week, and I was a bit apprehensive at first, because we dined in, and the atmosphere (building, lighting, seating, etc) was not as tidy or up to date. I do know, however, that often times a good restaurant starts out this way. Everyone has to get a start somewhere. I ordered ribs, candied yams, mac n cheese, and cornbread. My MIL had the meatloaf, and my DIL had fried chicken. They both loved their food. Biting into those ribs was like a trip straight to meat heaven! They were smoking, yet appley! The texture and quality was perfect! Not too much fatty meat, and the meat fell off the bone! Lawdy! The mac n cheese was thicc and hearty, but so smooth. The candied yams were a touch too sweet for me, but I’m a little odd when it comes to sugar…they were cooked perfectly and tasted fresh! The cornbread….shut your mouth. It was savory and moist! I will absolutely return to this restaurant. I’m from the Charlotte area, so I’ve had some challenges finding damn good food around here, but this place offers food so good it makes ya wanna smack yo Mama! Do not second guess or underestimate this soul food haven. Your loss if ya do. Their food is absolutely worth waiting for!
This place was highly recommended by a co-worker. So I definitely had to try it. For the mains I got ribs, catfish, and chicken wings and for the sides potato salad, collard greens, yams, and mac and cheese. When I say this food was amazing, omg!! The catfish and ribs have to be some of the best food I’ve eaten in a while. The sides were great the mac and the potato salad were my favs. Oh and how can I forget the chocolate peanut butter cake from heaven. Definitely a great spot. Isiah ( hope I spelled it right) was amazing. I know see why this restaurant is highly recommended. A must try.
The best soul food around. Really good flavor, large portions, quick and friendly service. The chicken is tremendous. Get the potato salad.
Fantastic food and nice folks. The fried whiting on Fridays is my fav, my husband loves the fried chicken. I’m obsessed with the banana cake - a must try.
